Barkha Nangia crowns Yasmin Mistry and Somya Banerjee at Mrs World International 2022

The 2022 edition of Mrs. World International, the first-of-its-kind beauty pageant for married women organized by Glamour Gurgaon founded by Barkha Nangia, crowned Somya Banerjee and Yasmin Mistry from Mumbai as the winners in Groups A and B. The pageant, which opened its registrations in February this year held an extravagant grand finale on Sunday, June 5.

Sakshi Nowlakha and Maheleqa Mohseni were the first runners-up, while Deepika KA and Ishu Hirawat were the second runners-up at the prestigious event.

Renowned celebrities such as Madhurima Tuli, Deepikaingh Goyal, Pooja Desai, Akash Aggarwal and Megha Sarpal formed part of the jury panel and gave valuable feedback to all participants. The grueling grand finale tested them in several rounds, with the eminent judges scoring them on multiple attributes.

The contestants went through many extensive grooming sessions from June 1-4 to prepare for this prestigious title.

Under the directorship of noted plus-size model and beauty entrepreneur Barkha Nangia, Glamour Gurgaon has organized many beauty pageants like Mrs. India - Pride of Nation, Mrs. Delhi NCR, and Ms. India Curvy - The Plus Size Show, and Mrs. Punjab Pride of Nation. The auditions were held in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dubai, London, New York, and Melbourne till May 2022.

Talking about Mrs. World International finale, Barkha Nangia says, "I had launched this pageant to introduce a plethora of opportunities for married women. I believe that nothing could stop you from reaching new heights and setting new milestones if you are passionate about it. Age is just a number, what counts is your efforts and your approach toward your goals. Many of the participating finalists and winners go on to be recognized for some brilliant work in modeling, acting, theater, ramp shows, commercial advertisements, music videos and much more. Congratulations to the winner, runners-up and finalists."

Sharing her views on the pageant, Madhurima Tuli said, “It was a pleasure to judge Mrs Word International 2022. Every participant came with her own set of skills, and their charisma and confidence is really spectacular. It’s a myth that women can not or must not focus on their careers after marriage. All the participants broke several social stereotypes and proved themselves. I congratulate all the winners and participants.”

As a CSR initiative, the organization works to bring awareness about breast cancer among females and annually organizes camps and free medical check-ups for the underprivileged section of society.

Mrs. World International celebrates the success of women and provides them with the platform to demonstrate their talent and beauty to the world. Being a one-of-a-kind event the beauty pageant allows aspirational women to take the leap and gain global fame. The competition empowers women from all walks of life to stand boldly on a worldwide scale. Yasmin Jal Mistry is the Independent, Enthusiast, Warmhearted Bold personality from Mumbai.

Having Completed her schooling from J.B Vachha High School, later on completed her Master’s degree in Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, with a recent honorary Doctorate in Women Entrepreneurship.

She is an Entrepreneur and Managing Director of several companies like Y.M. Securities, Mistry Logistics, Durand Forms (India) Pvt. Ltd. She is the founder Trustee of ZTFI (Community based Ngo Incepted since 2009) She is a fitness Enthusiast and recently this year she has won the prestigious Mrs. World International 2022.

An established model during her college days, she later took over her family transport business after the untimely death of her father and turned it into a logistic giant, later she went ahead to set up a manufacturing company Durand Forms India Pvt. Ltd. which is the second largest manufacturing company of Aluminum Form Works in India.

She is one of the rare individual to grab all the opportunities which came her way and work efficiently and tirelessly to make all her dreams into reality.

Somya Banerjee: Winner

My Mrs world international journey is a manifestation turn reality. I have always been fascinated with the pageant world and seeing a normal girl turn into a queen with her earnest effort was something admirable. we are all beautiful in our own way but with extensive training, dedication and confidence one can achieve that ultimate goal. Its within us, we need to recognise that spark.

Among so many girls who all participated in this prestigious pageant are achiever in their own territory but I can be that one final girl to wear the most beautiful Mrs world International Winner crown made me believe in my fate.

Associating with Glamour Gurgaon and undergoing many grooming and personality development session help me to stand where I am today. I would extend my gratitude to everyone who was part of this journey, I am lucky to have you beside me in my life. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would do something like this, but Barkha Mam's support and guidance made it less challenging. I’m still so overwhelmed by all the love. I’ve always been a believer in fate, destiny, and God’s perfect timing so I’m thankful for the opportunity and the memories of a lifetime.

Sakshi Nowlakha: 1st Runner-up

Mrs world international has been an incredible platform of self-discovery filled with enriching experiences and revelations, these lessons are reflective of my desires, efforts and strength of will. It’s a landmark of my journey that has changed the course and speed of my life. I understand its not that the time that is getting over, its the other way around and to make myself count I need to make every second count, while doing all that I love.

Deepika KA: 2nd Runner-up

My name is Deepika K A, second runner-up of Mrs. World International 2022. The journey during my pageantry was an eye-opener to the beauty industry. I was always keen on this field but never had the opportunity. However, with the help of Glamour Gurgaon, I fulfilled my long desire. When you have a dream, you’ve got to grab it and never let go, which I learned from our Barkha Nangia mam, the women behind our success and dream, who gave the platform, groomed us, and at last helped us to outshine, not without your support and the entire team of GG. Priyanka Chavan: Mrs. World Peace

Hi am Priyanka Chavan title holder of Mrs. World Global Peace 2022. I am doctor by profession practicing critical care medicine in a Mission hospital

Bengaluru. My journey of Mrs. world international (Glamour Gurgaon) has been surreal. We had wonderful mentors to guide us throughout the pageant. Pageants are a platform for showcasing women’ s empowerment, diversity, intelligence and leadership qualities. When I entered Mrs. world international pageant I was nervous at first, about stepping on stage face the huge crowd now I have overcome my stage fright to certain extent it has boosted my self-confidence not only that I am stronger and more confident, disciplined, punctual now. When I was growing up as a child always had a passion to pursue modelling as my career, since I belong to conservative family I was told to better in academics, but I kept my passion for modelling alive till I reached the goal.it feel like a dream the feeling has not sunk in yet. I am extremely happy that I made my dream come true. I am grateful to mentors, and Barkha mam and Abhishek sir, entire team of Mrs. world international who guided through the journey. I believe its never too late and you’re never too old to become better version of yourself.

Shivali Sambyal: Mrs. World Unity

"It's never too late to enter into the world of your dream. To wear a crown and to fly like a queen. Getting crowned as Mrs World Unity 2022 is like a dream come true. Things that we can only imagine became a reality through you" I would like to draw my special thanks to Barkha Nangia mam, Abhishek sir and entire team of Glamour Gurgaon for giving plethora of opportunities to me through Mrs world International pageant show held on 5th June 2022 to showcase my talent and wisdom to the world. Your hard work, guidance and love has given me invisible wings that has filled my life with confidence, opportunities, happiness and self-love.

Sonal Singhal: Mrs. World Pride

I believe real growth starts, when you move out of your comfort zone. The pageant, Mrs World International was my first step to move out of mine. The biggest learning I’ve got from this pageant is that it’s better to fail than to regret. It has made me a new person inside out. I never thought I would ever pursue modelling as a career but that’s the magic of enrolling yourself in a pageant. It will make you realise the potential you never thought existed. As it’s said, “If you’ll not try, you’ll not know” So grateful to Barkha Ma’am and Abhishek Sir for being the most wonderful mentor. They not just guide, they inspire.

Ishu Hirawat: 2nd Runner-up

Marie Sklodowska-Curie once said, “We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained” These words should be used as a credo by every woman who believes that they were born for something great and that they have enough talent to achieve their goals, and this is how my journey towards being Mrs world international 2022 Ravishing, 2nd runner up began. And there is no looking back. The team of Glamour Gurgaon, Mrs world international and all the mentors have crafted me into a new person in and out. My journey saw a lot of highs and lows but my self-confidence never got shaken. I discovered that a fresh start is a process. A fresh start is a journey – a journey that requires a plan and that life does not get better by chance. It gets better by change. The best thing Barkha Ma'am taught me was that some people look for a beautiful place... Others make a place look more beautiful. And so, the photoshoot experience grew by thousand times. Every shot i gave was my soul smiling. You can dream, create, design, and build the most wonderful person in the world if you believe in yourself is what my journey is all about.

Premila Naidu: Mrs. World Unity & Goodwill Ambassador

Gone are the days when women were confined to professions that helped them balance their personal lives. Today every woman has surpassed their boundaries and is creating wonders in their respective niches. Dr. Premila Naidu is one such figure who has risen to prominence due to her amazing work and talent. As a multitalented individual, she recently competed in a beauty contest and received the title of 'Mrs. World Unity,' as well as the sub-title 'The Goodwill Ambassadors.'

Defined by uniqueness in thought, framed by a multi-hued canvas of versatile interests, Dr. Premila's Premila's life combines varied roles to create a beautiful whole. She is an accomplished paediatric dentist with over a decade of experience, a passionate biker affiliated with riding clubs across the city, an avid traveller, and aligned with several causes close to her heart. She lives life on her terms, bringing together varied interests that have shaped her into the person she is today.

Dr.Premila began her career as a paediatric dental care doctor in India when few practitioners were dedicated solely to children's health needs. Over the years, she has continually tried to experiment and innovate in her dental practice, adapting innovative treatment techniques worldwide. The virtuoso has not only shaped many people's lives, but dedicatedly, she works for Autism Awareness and children with down syndrome, making the world more inclusive, taking this one step forward she has started the first clinic, which is inclusive in nature and can make children with special needs comfortable.

She was recognized for her efforts with the "Best Paediatric Dentist – 2020" by PRAXIS Media (National Dental Excellence Award) and honoured with The National Excellence Award for "The Best Pedodontics in Bangalore," based on her two decades of experience in preventive and paediatric dentistry with renowned hospitals like Fortis and Narayana.

With her varied interests, Dr.Premila exemplifies that everything done with genuine enthusiasm and love seems more like living life than a job.

Dr.Naidu has pursued her numerous artistic endeavours with unbounded excitement and zeal over the years, and now she happily sets her foot into the fashion industry which she feels is something that had been missing so far and is thankful to Mrs world International, Barkha ma'am and Glamour Gurgaon for this wonderful platform for married women.

Zainab Lehry: Mrs. World Pride

Winning Mrs. World International Pride Ravishing 2022 made me realize that beauty is a feeling. Time flies but the essence of beauty remains! My life changed when I carried this

beautiful crown with a sense of responsibility. What I carry with me for the rest of my life are beautiful memories and cherishable moments experienced during my reign. I must thank this moment of glory, my motherland India, and her proud people, my parents, my family, my children, my colleagues, my friends, my mentor Barkha Ma’am, Abhishek Sir and the entire team of Mrs. World International Glamour Gurgaon to help me realize my true potential and motivating me from transforming from a shy caterpillar into a blooming beautiful butterfly. I am proud to continue my passion of teaching my curious young learners along with the different roles that I perform as a mother, daughter, sister, and wife but I never dare to forget that I am an individual of my own and have my own beautiful identity!

I am an English Hons graduate and a mother of 2 beautiful kids. I was a recruitment consultant with a Dubai based consultancy. I have worked as a Cabin crew for a renowned airline as well as with HSBC bank in the past. I always wanted to do something in the glamour industry but never knew where to start. This platform given to me by Glamour Gurgaon has been the stepping stone to enter the glamour industry. By winning this title i have become more positive and I'm very thankful to Barkha ma'am, Abhishek sir, the entire team of Glamour Gurgaon and the special trainers who had come to groom us Shie sir, Ojas sir, Simrat ma'am, Sabira ma'am. 5th June 2022, saw 108 dreamers who came together to compete for Mrs World International. The sparkle in our eyes and hopes of a crown on our heads. We came to conquer and conquer we did. We conquered our fears, faced obstacles, learnt so many new things. Hidden talents we weren’t even aware of.

My journey from a participant to being a finalist and winning 1st Runner-up in the Ravishing category has been an inspiring one.

My deepest gratitude for Mrs Barkha Ma'am who inspires so many women to showcase their metal and talent. Her supportive husband Mr Abhishek Sir @abhisheknangia who is a pillar to his wife makes one believe that behind every successful woman there is a supportive man.

I am Vandana Ahuja, Mother of a 12 yr old amazing daughter, Senior Cabin Crew by profession, an avid reader and a fanatic pet lover who always thought that life after marriage is only limited to taking care of family and leading a normal routine life. But there was always an unfulfilled dream that my heart held ever since I was in college. A dream to make a statement in fashion industry, a wish to walk the ramp, a desire to get mentored by the big names like Sabira Merchant Ma’am @sabychotu, Simrat Ma’am @simratbohra_fashionstylist, Shie sir @shielobo, Ojas Sir @ojasrajani in the fashion industry. All this is made possible at Mrs. World International 2022. The exposure, experience knowledge that I have gained through my journey at Mrs. World International is phenomenal in shaping me emerge as a super confident and positive individual and l look to having a great future ahead.
