“…essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” ― Hector Garcia Puigcerver, Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life
To live a life navigating through milestones and checkpoints that reveal something greater about yourself sounds like a movie plot. But for Shurti Khandare, this has been life.
Born into a Naval family, Shruti Khandare lived a nomadic life, navigating through different cultures, 17 schools, and various experiences. “I took it all in,” says Shruti, “the art, the ethnology and the many ways it shaped me.”
Shruti was gearing up to do medicine but changed her course to Arts when she found it to be “a constant in my life. Art through dance, singing, passion for the camera, it was all fascinating for me.”
Participating and winning the Naval Queen Pageant in 2010, Miss Kochin 2010, Miss Kerala 2011 First Runners Up, Miss Talented at Miss South India 2013, “It completely changed me as a person, the way I carried myself and viewed life.” Magazines, ads, campaigns, modelling, Shruti Khandare is a loved face and with a personality to match, she forayed into PR and worked with the bigwigs like Madison PR, Perfect Relations, Tarun Tahiliani, Limeroad and everything, everyone taught her that she could do it all. She spoke eloquently, she presented herself well, she knew how to conduct herself in any circumstance. She knew her biggest bet was herself.
“I decided to quit my job and get into social media content creation, talking about experiences, the knowledge I picked up along the way, the brands I used and loved. I kept it simple and honest. It is a form of storytelling through visuals which I enjoy doing – being my boss. With my experience of being in front of the camera and enjoying content, I quickly adapted to being a full-time YouTuber.” Shruti shares. Along with that, Shruti is also the Marketing Head of a FinTech company, MyFundBazaar where she and her husband, inform and assist people to stay a penny ahead of the curve.
How does she do it? “I balance the person I am, with the person I can be, pushing myself with each effort, opening up new avenues and the satisfaction at the end of the day is what drives me for the next.”
The ability to have ambition, to build a personality with positive, constructive qualities and experiences is a life lived fully. Shruti believes in the power of efforts, happiness and motivation to keep moving. “Anything you do in life with passion, at the end of the day if you are happy, then it shows that you enjoy it and YOU have potential to make something bigger and be better!” she concludes.
